Dining Room Bar Cupboard

A few weeks ago, I finally got around to refinishing the bar cupboard in our dining room. The actual refinishing didn't take long at all. I wish I had done it sooner. I probably bought this piece a year ago and for some reason procrastinated working on it, even though I knew exactly how  I wanted it to look. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I'm sure you will be seeing more of it in the future.

I used Old Ochre Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to paint this piece. I also re-stained the top and the shelf with dark walnut stain. Eventually I want to replace all of the knobs, but for now I painted them and just replaced the top drawer knobs.

Here is what it looked like before. I feel like it used to look too "country kitchen" for the space.

I gave the top and the shelf a good sanding before I stained them. They looked pretty rough.

Here is another picture of the finished product.
